Today I received my new laptop, a 17″ MacBook Pro. I got it with 2gigs of ram and the faster 100gig 7200rpm harddrive. So far I’ve pretty much taken it out of the box, gone through the welcome wizard, and installed some updates. I’ve got to say that it’s frickin’ sweet. From the packaging to the experience booting it up the first time. It found my wireless network and set me up immediately. One cool thing I found already: two finger scrolling. Ingenious.
I’m very excited about this laptop. It will be interesting to see how living on two platforms on the same machine will treat me. I have some immediate problems to solve. For example, how am I going to sync my pictures with my Windows workstation and server? But a more immediate problem is a laptop bag. I have a beat up old bag, but when I stuck the MacBook in it, it was like Manute Bol trying on Herve Villechaize’s Levis. Didn’t work too well. Hey, but it’s a shopping opportunity, right? I know the ladies are going yeeaahh baby, bag shopping… drool. The ladies and Reeves. Though Reeves doesn’t shop for bags, he shops for “sacks of doom”.

Any other suggestions on the bag? I want a shoulder bag, and obviously it needs to be able to fit Manute Bol in it.
I’ll keep ya’ll posted about my new laptop adventures. Mostly this will probably end up being a bunch of bitching and moaning. Whaddayagonnado? A least ya’ll can have a good laugh at my expense.

ok, I don’t care how cool the Crumpler bags are, I wouldn’t buy them because of their STUPID web site!!! You should also check out the Tumi bags, they are doing some much hipper things these days and they are really really durable!
