About Mike

Hi there. My name is Mike. I am a forty something computer programmer and wise-ass. I like to crack the jokes. Crack em’ right over your head with a two by four. Ooh, zing. Or not.

I just got married on Dec. 8, 2008 and I am now sporting some heavy bling now on the ring digit. I seem to always be sporting bruises these days from left handed facepalms – I guess I shouldn’t have had my wedding ring cast out of irradiated nuetronium (in the fires of Mount Doom).

I have three dogs, Sanjo, Chloe, and Teddy, who combined weigh less than forty pounds. They are also lovely. And fluffy. And smelly. And loud. And cute. And lots of fun. We love our fur friends. Our other nickname for the herd of fur is “the poopers” which gives you some idea of, well, what we’re up against.

I’ve worked as a software engineer for going on twenty years and I’ve been working for Microsoft for more than half that time. I’m currently working on the calendar.live.com team where I’m doing client side stuff with Javascript, Css, and Html. I’ve also done a lot of server side stuff with C#, SQL, and all that crazy stuff that only another backend dude or gal would grok. I’ve also done a lot of Macintosh stuff, and still love my Macs.

I also like reading science fiction, photography, playing my drums, hanging with friends, driving fast, and traveling. I’ve been to some interesting places like Egypt, the San Fermin festival in Spain, and Fresno. Yes, I’m being ironic. I also like writing funny and entertaining about me pages. Unfortunately, this may not really either of these and I’ll need to rewrite this soon.

You can get in touch with me here.
