One of the coolest motorsports photos I’ve ever seen

This is a picture of Nico Rossberg in his Williams F1 Car during the French Grand Prix in Magny-Cours. You can see the photographer in the picture. Looks like he’s shooting with a 600mm lens on a monopod. If you’re wondering about the crazy helmet, this is one of the pit crew (I’m not sure which team though). They have fully enclosed system complete with oxygen in case of a pit fire.

I found this picture here. The photographer was Andrew Ferraro from LAT Photographic. Nice job Andrew!!

    Kimi Raikkonen (Formula 1)

I’m a Ferrari, Kimi (The Iceman) Raikkonen fan. He won the world championship last year by one point in a edge of the seat final race. I didn’t think he’d pull it off, but he did, capping off an exciting and bizarre year in Formula One.

Not much is going in in F1 right now, just a bunch of testing. All the teams have their new cars. One of the big changes for 2008 is the banning of traction control. This is very controversial, but I think it will make for more exciting races since everything will be up to the driver. Of course some feel this is a step backwards in safety, but I say who says F1 is supposed to be safe?

Here’s a very cool picture of Kimi sliding through a corner in his 2007 title winning Ferrari…

I can’t wait for the season to start. I really really am hoping for the races to be broadcast in high definition this year. Drool.

Aston Martin - the most beautiful race car

I think the Aston Martins are argueably the most beatiful race cars in all of motorsports. This car give me chills. Just look at it.

I saw the previous version at Laguna Seca a few years ago, and it’s its just stunning in person.
